Communities are fundamental. Whether around the corner or across the globe, they provide a foundation, a sense of place and of belonging. That's why at Stantec, we always design with community in mind.
We care about the communities we serve—because they're our communities too. This allows us to assess what's needed and connect our expertise, to appreciate nuances and envision what's never been considered, to bring together diverse perspectives so we can collaborate toward a shared success.
Since 1954 the Stantec community unites approximately 22,000 employees working in over 400 locations across 6 continents. We collaborate across disciplines and industries to bring buildings, energy and resource, environmental, water, and infrastructure projects to life. We're designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe. Stantec trades on the TSX and the NYSE under the symbol STN. One of our most popular services is providing efficient review and inspection services to assist in the development process. By providing diligent and comprehensive review and inspections, we optimize the value of the owner’s/contractor’s assets and increase the livability of our communities for generations to come.
Stantec provides a combination of building code consulting, construction inspections, management, and plan review services to municipalities and tribal clients. Because of this experience, we believe we are exceptionally qualified to evaluate plans at the planning and construction phases of development. Stantec maintains a core group of engineers and technicians to accommodate the normal workload demands of our clients. However, we can easily expand our work force, as we have dozens of qualified engineers, registrants, and certified code professionals who can be called upon to meet additional demands due to an influx of work.
U.S. Communities and National IPA, both wholly-owned subsidiaries of OMNIA Partners, have come together as OMNIA Partners, Public Sector. All public sector participants already registered with National IPA or U.S. Communities continue to have access to all contracts, with certain exceptions, in the portfolio and do not need to re-register to use a legacy National IPA, legacy U.S. Communities, or new OMNIA Partners contract. U.S. Communities and National IPA remain separate legal entities and lead agency contracts completed under each brand are effective and available for use through the contract’s approved term. In the event we believe re-registration is necessary for any reason, OMNIA Partners will let you know.

City of Tucson, AZ
Stantec performs municipal building plan review on behalf of the City of Tucson, reviewing plans submitted to the City with the intent of obtaining a building permit. Our team reviews plan submittals to determine compliance with the City’s adopted building, fire, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fuel gas, energy conservation, and existing building codes. Comment letters are generated and distributed, with the applicant then addressing the comments. When it is determined through subsequent review that the comments have been addressed, Stantec approves the plans and the City subsequently issues the building permit.
Plan reviews are either done directly on behalf of the City (i.e. 2nd party), with the City giving the plans to Stantec for review and paying Stantec directly, or the applicant can request that the City allow Stantec to perform the review on behalf of the City (i.e. 3rd party), with the applicant paying Stantec directly for the review.
